Kinship 1: Best-Laid Plans of Mice and Cats

“You know, I was really looking forward to growing up with you…

…To getting to know you like a brother… and having a real family…

…But, you know what?...

…If I have to end up in someone’s tummy…

…I’m glad it’s yours.”

This story literally came to me in a dream- so vivid that I thought I must have been remembering a movie- but when I woke up, I realized that I had imagined the whole thing. Of course I had to fill in some of the dream-logic with things that actually made sense, and I fleshed out the details a bit, but I think it came out pretty well.

Kinship 2: Careful What You Wish For

Pangur, Evan and their mother have been living in the wild for a couple days now. Things are a bit harder, but there's always a silver lining. For instance, it seems Evan is about to get his wish to watch his brother hunt. That can't end too badly, can it?

This story is, of course, a direct sequel to Kinship 1. It might help some to have read that story for context.
